    Exceeding Macros?

    Hey everyone!

Just curious to know whether exceeding macronutrients is bad for muscle mass?. Currently putting together a diet plan and noticed that I am exceeding in protein. what is a reasonable amount to go over by? And what effects would it Have?

What other macros that under no circumstance i should go over?

    Many thanks guys.

I don't think exceeding your macros a little can be bad for you.As long as you get your protein and fat minimum and don't go crazy low on carbs you should be fine.On the other hand eating to much foods that consume sodium, cholesterol, trans fat, saturated fat, sugar etc can be harmful.

You can definitely exceed your macros. Typically you'd set a MINIMUM fats and protein, so you could go over those as long as you hit your caloric goal.

I tend to play by a +/- 10g for protein, carbs and fats. I'm not bulking right now but in a reverse diet phase but still don't trip too hard if I go over slightly.

I would try to stick to your macros but if on some days you go over don't worry too much about it. It can only be beneficial if you're bulking anyways. Obviously you don't want to make it an on going habit as it would become easier and easier to justify exceeding your macros thus putting you in a larger caloric surplus than maybe you intend to be in.

Sometimes going over your macros is worth it...

Birthdays, Celebrations, etc. Your diet shouldn't disrupit your life imo. If you stick to your macros 95% of the time 5% won't make a difference in the long run.

There's no maximum for protein intake lol. We use minimums for protein and fat intake. Realistically the only thing you might want to be careful of would be fructose intake and then maybe industrial trans fats.
